These stunning chairs are lacquered in striée effect deep jade and feature keyhole detail backs, brass accents and capped feet.
The new marbelized fabric upholstery fabric highlights the warm metal details. The lacquer finish recalls the veining of malachite.
The chairs are in the signature style of bad boy post-war designer James Mont, who was known as much for his mob connections and volatile temper as for his over-the-top furniture designs. Istanbul-born Mont was heavily influenced by Eastern shapes, finishes and details.
Mont reinterpreted Asian classics in exaggerated proportions and his furniture is experiencing a revival and has been embraced by Kelly Wearstler, who used the chairs at the Viceroy hotel in Miami.
